Undergraduate Advisors 2019-2020

Prospective or current majors, please feel free to reach out to our undergraduate advisors!

Victoria Yuan (vyuan@stanford.edu)
Victoria Yuan is a senior from Fremont, CA, majoring in Biomedical Computation on the Simulation track and minoring in Classics. She is interested in biophysics and medical device design. Victoria is pursuing her honors thesis in the Marsden Lab to investigate the performance of ventricular assist devices for children with heart failure. Her previous research projects have put her at Stanford's Radiological Sciences Laboratory and at the National University of Singapore. Outside of the lab, Victoria is passionate about connecting with her community. She volunteers with Cardinal Free Clinics as a Mandarin interpreter and as the Community Outreach Manager. She also teaches coding and robotics to underprivileged children with Women in Computer Science. In her free time, Victoria likes to listen to audio podcasts and produce them with the Stanford Storytelling Project. She is also the editor-in-chief for Herodotus, the undergraduate research journal of the History department. Her interests in historical narratives inspired her to study abroad at Oxford. Victoria hopes to connect with other students over love for both the sciences and the humanities!
Please email me any questions you may have. I’m also available for drop in meeting hours on Wednesdays, from 11am-12pm. Contact me at vyuan@stanford.edu for where I’ll be!

Jillian Rogers (jillianr@stanford.edu)
Jill is a senior from Santa Barbara studying Biomedical Computation.  She is interested in applying data science and technology to tackle global healthcare needs, with a specific focus on women’s health and reproductive rights.  At Stanford, Jill co-founded Stanford Planned Parenthood Generation Action, of which she is currently co-President, in addition to serving on the Executive Boards of Stanford Students in Biodesign and Stanford Women in Medicine.  She has also conducted research at Stanford Byers Center for Biodesign, where she worked on two projects: first, she was a summer intern who carried out the Biodesign process to address clinical needs in a fetal urinary tract condition, and then she contributed to a Coulter Grant project which seeks to develop a technology to monitor catheter migration in NICU patients.  Outside of her academic interests, Jill is a competing member of both Stanford Equestrian Team and Stanford Women’s Club Lacrosse.  She is excited to advise students on choosing a major (fun fact: BMC is my 4th major at Stanford), designing 4-year plans, studying abroad (studied abroad in Berlin!), deciding between academic and industry settings for summer internships, and research/extracurricular opportunities at the intersection of healthcare and technology.

Please email me any questions you may have. I’m also available for drop in meeting hours on Mondays from 3-4pm. Contact me at jillianr@stanford.edu for where I’ll be!
